AI’s Industrial Revolution moment: innovation first, regulation later?

Every generation likes to believe it is living through a unique technological rupture. Sometimes, that belief is exaggerated. But occasionally, it is justified. The rise of artificial intelligence feels like one of those moments: a profound shift in how work is done, how value is created, and how societies organize themselves around newly available power. […]

Europe’s connectivity channel comes of age

For many years, connectivity occupied a somewhat different position in the European technology market than it did in North America. While channel partners became increasingly influential in decisions around cloud, cybersecurity and managed services, network services often followed their own procurement path. Connectivity was typically purchased directly from telecom providers and treated as a standalone […]

Why AI is putting the Internet backbone back in the spotlight

Much of today’s discussion around AI focuses on applications, data centers and the edge. Yet every digital service ultimately depends on a layer of infrastructure that receives far less attention: the backbone networks connecting cloud regions, data centers, Internet exchanges and enterprises around the world. For decades, these networks have quietly carried the traffic behind […]

The biggest connectivity mistake customers still make

For many years, enterprise connectivity was often treated as a utility purchase. Organizations compared providers primarily on bandwidth, price and availability, assuming that one Internet connection was fundamentally much like another. That assumption is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. As applications move to the cloud, workloads become more distributed, and digital experiences become central to […]

Building Europe’s digital backbone in the Baltics

For many years, the Baltics were often viewed as the edge of Europe’s network map. Today, they are increasingly becoming part of its backbone. We’re seeing this shift driven by several trends at once. Cloud adoption continues to accelerate, AI workloads are generating unprecedented traffic volumes, and organizations are placing greater emphasis on resilience and […]

Scaling our AI superhighway in Mexico

Mexico has been an important part of Arelion’s story for more than a decade. When the country’s telecommunications reforms opened the market in 2013, we saw the potential for Mexico to become a key digital gateway between North and Latin America. Arelion were among the early global carriers to invest in the market, and we’ve […]

Protecting the Internet from AI-enabled threats

Every year, data from our #1 ranked global backbone provides us with actionable defense insights straight from the heart of the Internet. Our annual threat landscape report has proven invaluable for helping our customers prepare for constantly evolving Distributed-Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks. This year was no different, as we saw record-breaking botnet attacks reaching 6.1 Terabits […]

Turning sustainability ambition into action

When people think about sustainability, they do not always think about networks. Yet every cloud application, AI workload, video stream and digital interaction depends on connectivity. As digitalization accelerates, the infrastructure powering our connected world becomes increasingly important, not only for economic growth and innovation, but also for how we manage our environmental and social […]

Fiber vs. Satellite? Wrong Question.

Every few months, satellite connectivity returns to the spotlight. Starlink announces a new generation of satellites, promises “fiber-like speeds from space,” and the same question resurfaces: could satellite eventually replace terrestrial infrastructure? The short answer is no. The more useful answer is why. The reasons have less to do with loyalty to fiber and more […]

How channel partners find 100G opportunities

For many channel partners, finding a 100G opportunity can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Unlike traditional connectivity services, high-capacity bandwidth isn’t something you can market broadly and hope the right prospects appear. The reality is much simpler: organizations that need 100G, 400G, or even 800G services tend to leave clues long […]

Building a global channel ecosystem for the AI era

The enterprise networking landscape is evolving quickly. As organizations invest in AI, cloud and data-intensive applications, they need trusted partners that can help them navigate growing complexity while maintaining performance, resilience and scale. From my perspective, that creates a significant opportunity for channel partners that can combine expertise, reach and a strong customer experience. At […]

Connectivity is now an AI performance issue

Most enterprises already see the signs. AI is moving into core workflows, demands are increasing and systems need to respond in real time. What is becoming clearer is that performance no longer depends only on models, data or compute. It depends just as much on how reliably everything is connected. When connectivity fails, the impact […]
